Teach me a practical working

Have you got a spell to share with me?

I’m not interested in illumination work or evoking dryads - I’m already performing my daily Abramelin Operation and ‘working with spirits’ as far as I can.

I’m a chaos magickian; along with my interest in ‘high magick’ and illumination, I’m very interested in tactical magick, strategic sorcery and practical workings, sometimes known as ‘low magick’, often referred to as results magick.

Such practical magick can be stripped down to bare bones of intention, experience (‘ritual’), and result.

So what rite have you got to share with me and the details of the intent and result please? If you had a way of creating X result in <8 days, I’d be very excited to perform a similar working to achieve X. If it doesn’t ‘work’ for me, I won’t whinge, I’ll simply work to on my version of the rite to achieve the result. I’m not afraid of a little work.

I must reiterate that I’m not interested in ‘connecting to an astral channel’ or ‘banishing my fears’ as I’m all good for those personal illumination experiences. I’m looking for practical results, and I’m very interested in your intent (desire), ritual (experience), and result (achievement). I’d be happy to debate the definition of ‘practical’ another time; this query is about your practical magick - please share.

What can you teach me that you find delivers real-world results?

My computer is very old. Very. Older than any other electrical equipment I use. I recently attempted to upgrade it with a slightly more modern operating system, but it failed three times.
I lost some files and all my software. Each failure took over ninety minutes, so I was losing patience.
For the fourth attempt, I crafted the above sigil. Now, the trick is, in chaos magick, the sigil needs to be engulfed by the subconscious mind without interference from the conscious mind going ‘oh you-I really want this to work oh my gods oh my gods you-I want this so bad nnnng’.
So chaotes forget the intention, the desire behind the sigil, and memorise / breathe in the sigil without knowing what it’s for.
I usually take a few days to ‘let go’ of any sigil I’ve scrawled or painted, but how can I use a sigil (in the chaos magick mode) immediately?
On this occasion I got down on the floor and did some press-ups while staring at the sigil. I focused on all the signals my body was giving me (screaming for surrender, mostly) and the contours and paths of the sigil. Although I ‘knew’ it was to help my OS installation, after three failures I was happy to accept that my little machine wasn’t capable of being upgraded, and I was able to adopt a ‘neither-neither’ state of mind; I neither mourned the inability to upgrade nor wanted the newer operating system desperately. It didn’t really matter; I’d have to install all my software again whatever happened.
Oh and you guessed it, I’m now typing this using a more modern OS and my little old computer is coping well - fourth time’s the charm!
P.S. I’m using an old slow computer to help me conquer my unhealthy ‘need’ to be online all the time. My big fast computer is in storage right now. I must be clean and clear for my Abramelin Operation, which continues (thanks for asking).

The Phantoms of Opposites

A concise lesson in the fallacious belief of opposites.

Hot and cold; such basic opposites. Except neither exist. Both are relative discernments (within a person’s mind, subjective) of temperature. ‘Heat’ may exist, but ‘cold’ does not. One does not insulate a home ‘from’ cold, but rather to retain heat, to slow the loss of heat. This is measurable and agreed upon ‘fact’.

<——Temperature——>

Pride and shame; strong feelings, experientially they ‘exist’ as much as any concept. Yet are they not a ‘system’ like a binary planet system, requiring each other to be useful and understood? When one feels pride, one cannot feel shame at the same time, whereas other emotions (anger, love, fear) may co-present. Therefore, I put it to you as a useful ‘truth’ that pride and shame are the extremes of the prideshame continuum.

<——Prideshame——>

In conclusion, might we be deceiving ourselves, or using a less useful ‘truth’, when we cling to the beliefs that fire is opposite to earth (or water) and cognition is opposite feeling (et cetera, et cetera)?
